Anna E. Borden, DDS

Dr. Anna Borden was born the youngest of three children in Madrid, Spain to an American diplomatic family. After living in Spain, Mexico, and Austria, her family settled in McLean, Virginia where she spent her remaining childhood. Dr. Borden graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After her undergraduate studies, she took a year off from studying and resided in Charleston, South Carolina where she worked as a dental assistant for a year. Here she learned the ins and outs of dentistry and fell in love with the Lowcountry. She returned to Richmond, Virginia to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University — knowing that one day she would return to the city she had so loved.

After graduation, Dr. Borden did return to Charleston to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Medical University where she served as chief resident. While here she trained in advanced periodontal procedures and implant restorations, cosmetic dentistry, full mouth reconstructions, and worked in the Special Needs Health Care Clinic.

Dr. Borden resides on James Island with her husband, Trae, their daughter, Corinna, and their two dogs, Roo and Earl. You can often find them enjoying Folly Beach or the James Island County Park, trying new restaurants, kayaking on the creeks, and traveling.
