Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

registered dental hygienist (RDH) is a licensed oral healthcare professional who works closely with the dentist and dental assistant. They are primarily responsible for your preventative dental care services, cleaning teeth, and oral assessments and examinations.

Tracey.

Tracey, RDH

Tracey moved from Charleston, WV in 1989, where she graduated from Summerville High School in South Carolina. After working as an Orthodontic Assistant for eight years, she decided to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene. After graduating from Trident Technical College and obtaining her license in 2002, Tracey has been working for Dr. Beall for the past 20 years. She loves her patients and strives to help them maintain their oral health so they can smile for years to come. When she’s not working, Tracey enjoys traveling with her husband and nine-year-old son, spending as much time as possible outdoors and at the beach.

Lynn.

Lynn, RDH

Lynn Logothetis Casey, our James Island native, actually grew up with the first dentists established on the island — her father. After attending Midlands Technical College for her Associate’s Degree in Health Science, Lynn decided to pursue Dental Hygiene, which she has been practicing for over 35 years. Working with Dr. Beall for 23 years, Lynn loves helping her patients and giving them the dental care they need. When not in the office, she enjoys boating, fishing, and spending quality time with her husband, Kevin and their two beautiful daughters. She also enjoys traveling to the Keys with her family and friends.

Shannon.

Shannon, RDH

Shannon moved to Charleston in 2000 from the eastern shores of Maryland and attended The College of Charleston, where she received a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2004. After years of research at MUSC, she decided to enter the dental hygiene field, where she currently helps patients receive the care they need. In her free time, Shannon enjoys going to parks, walks around downtown, and making dinner together with her husband Bret, their two daughters Darby and Nora, and their dog Ella.

Carrie.

Carrie, RDH

Carrie was born in Sumter, SC but was raised in Illinois. After 6 years in the National Guard, Carrie moved back to South Carolina in 2004 and attended Trident Technical College to earn her professional hygiene degree. Carrie loves spending time with her family and dog, Elly, as well as traveling to new places.

Leighann.

Leighann, RDH

Born in Charleston, Leighann graduated from Wando high school and went on to the University of South Carolina where she got her Bachelors’s degree in Public health. After working at the front desk of a dental office post-college she then decided to pursue her career as a dental hygienist. She graduated from Horry-Georgetown Technical College in 2018 and has been practicing ever since. When not working, you can find her anywhere on the water or spending time with her golden retriever, Sully. She is engaged to her wonderful fiancé and getting married in the spring of 2020.

Jessica, RDH

Jessica moved to Charleston, South Carolina from Lexington, Kentucky in 1995, where she later graduated from Wando High School. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communications at the College of Charleston in 2003, Jessica attended Trident Technical College, where she finished with her degree and license to practice dental hygiene. When she’s not in the office, Jessica enjoys visiting antique shops and trying new restaurants with her husband and two daughters. Jessica’s family are all animal lovers — she has three dogs, a cat, and too many chickens to count. She says that a pet duck may also be in her near future.

Jeff, RDH

Born in Texas and raised in California, Jeff moved to Charleston in 2020. Coming from a family that’s involved in the dental field, Jeff started out as a hygienist in 2018 and soon received his dental certificate from Western Career College and Associate’s Degree from Carrington College. During this time, he worked in a dental office as both chairside and up front, finding the latter more to his liking. In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family at the beach or traveling and exploring his new surroundings. For something more laid back, Jeff can also be found on a golf course.

Linh Smith, RDH

Originally from Vietnam, Linh Smith moved to Charleston in 2017. Earning a Bachelor’s in Business Administration & Oriental Studies, Smith graduated at the top of her class at Trident Technical College while studying as a Dental Hygienist. Some of the honors and awards she obtained include the Merit Award, Golden Scaler Awards – Dental Hygiene Program – Hu – Friendly, and also receiving the Student Total Achievement Recognition award from Colgate for compassion in patient care, enthusiasm for community service, and dedication and enjoyment of the Dental Hygiene profession. Smith currently lives with her husband, Skip, in West Ashley, along with their dog, a Shiba Inu named Achilles. The family loves to go to the dog parks, travel, and try new foods in their free time.

Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)

Certified dental assistants (CDA) are trained in general chairside assisting (GS), radiation health and safety (RHS), infection control (ICE), and nitrous oxide monitoring. Assistants work closely with the dentist to perform their intricate hands-on procedures quickly and efficiently while making your visit relaxing and enjoyable.

Jaime.

Jaime, CDA

Jaime was born and grew up in Gainesville, FL, where she initially received her Associate of Arts from Santa Fe College. After moving to Charleston in 2003, Jaime earned her Dental Assisting Diploma from Trident Technical College right here in the low country. Jaime has been working in our office for over 11 years and is a member of ADAA (American Dental Assistants Association) and DANB certified (Dental Assisting National Board). In her free time, Jaime loves to spend time with her chihuahua, Lulu, and her cat, Baby Kitty, as well as fishing, going to the beach, and catering.

Becca.

Becca L., CDA

Born and raised in Summerville, SC, Becca graduated from Stratford High School in 1999 and joined the dental industry in 2002. After being trained on the job and loving her experience, Becca went back to school at Trident Technical College to earn a Dental Assisting Degree and an Expanded Duties Certificate. After joining our practice in 2011, Becca has been fortunate to learn under Dr. Blanton. Becca has a daughter, Conner Marie (her dog), and enjoys exercising (particularly cross-fit), hiking and camping, anything outdoors, learning to play the drums, and attending Seacoast Church every Sunday; she feels thankful and blessed to be part of our dental family and enjoys the new adventure each day brings.

Becca C.

Becca C., CDA

Originally from New Jersey. Went to WVU-P where I received a degree in Liberal Arts and a Dental Assisting Certification in 2015. Recently got engaged in the mountains in Vermont in December 2018. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my fiance and our four fur babies (Sylvie, Pierre, Avalon, and Vivian), cooking dinners for friends, going to the beach, and watching movies.

Fleta.

Fleta, CDA

Fleta has been a dental assistant for 32 years, becoming highly experienced in the field. A North Carolina native, Fleta is a proud married mother of two, with four beautiful granddaughters and two dogs. Along with her job, Fleta enjoys spending time in the company of family and friends, whether it’s with good food, music that you can dance to, or going to the beach for some fun in the sun!

Julia.

Julia, CDA

I grew up in Hanahan, SC, and graduated from Hanahan High School in 2010. Right after high school, I joined the SC Army National Guard and served a tour to Afghanistan from 2013 to 2014. I earned my Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Diploma from Trident Technical College in 2017. I have been working at our office for over 2 years, I am a member of the ADAA (American Dental Assistants Association) and am DANB certified (Dental Assisting National Board). I live in Goose Creek with my husband Michael, daughter Tessa, we have 2 dogs and are expecting our second child next year. We love spending time outdoors, taking family trips, and going out to dinner.

Sabrina, CDA

Born and raised in Statesville, NC, Sabrina moved to Ladson, SC in 2020 when her companion was offered a management position. Living by the ocean has always been a dream of hers, so she had no problem moving down here that same week. Sabrina has been a dental assistant for two and a half years and enjoys building relationships with her patients while providing them with the necessary care and comfort they need during procedures. In her free time outside of the office, Sabrina enjoys walking her two rescue dogs, swimming and bodysurfing, and doing yoga or Zumba.

Xela, Sterilization Tech & Surgical Assistant

Xela Epperson was born in Missouri and moved to Charleston at the age of seven. She works as a sterilization technician and surgical assistant, where she helps to ensure that our patients receive the best treatment for their oral health needs. When not in the office, you can find Xela serving tables on Kiawah. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out by the pool in the summer, a good bite to eat, and doing some much needed retail therapy. Xela is also the proud owner of two tabby cats, Lyric Jones and Gypsy Rose (if you know, you know).

Xela, CDA

Amanda was born Charleston, but spent her childhood years traveling with her family to different cities and countries as a military (Air Force) child. Amanda went to the Palmetto School of Career Development, where she studied to obtain her Dental Assistant Certification. Amanda spends her time being a full-time mother to three beautiful children. When not working with patients as a Dental Assistant, she spends her time singing as a lead vocalist in two bands, listening to music, eating, having game nights, and traveling.

Christine, EFDA

Christine moved from St. Louis, MO where she became a certified Dental Assistant and later went back to school to become an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). She’s been serving patients for over 40 years and still loves every minute of it. When not doing dentistry, Christine is spending time with her children and grandchildren, who all love going to the beach.

Jamie, CDA

Born and raised in Gainesville, FL, Jamie initially received her Associate of Arts from Santa Fe College. Patty.

Patty, Office Manager

Growing up in Long Island, NY, Patty entered the dental field in 1983 as a Dental Assistant, and has been immersed in the field ever since. After moving to Charleston in 1997, Patty joined Dr. Back and has been working with Dr. Beall since 2004. Patty continues to live in North Charleston with her daughter, husband, and their dogs Bella and Chester.

Cindy.

Cindy

Cindy moved to South Carolina in 2001 and has been working in the dental field for over 25 years now. Cindy has ample experience in dentistry with a dental technician as a father. Growing up in Puerto Rico, Cindy became fluently bilingual in English and Spanish; she’d be happy to answer any questions you might have in either language.

Tabby.

Tabby, Front Desk

Originally from Maine, Tabby moved to Charleston from Lancaster, PA nine years ago. She worked for a dental office in Lancaster but when she moved to Charleston she took a year and a half off before starting here at James Island Family, Cosmetic, & Implant Dentistry in 2007. Tabby, her husband, Steve, and Golden Retriever, Maisie, live on John’s Island. Tabby loves spending time with her family; she and Steve have 3 children and 4 beautiful grandchildren who live in the Charleston area. Tabby also enjoys antiquing and decorating in her free time.

Tim McAdams.

Tim, Nurse Anesthetist

Tim McAdams, CRNA graduated from Medical University of South Carolina in 2005 and has provided anesthesia in town since then. Tim has worked in many hospitals and offices in town and has provided IV sedation for the office since 2014, but has been a patient for much longer than that!

Lilli, Office Assistant

Lilli is a Charleston, SC native and is beginning her dental administrative career with us at James Island Family, Cosmetic, & Implant Dentistry after two years of being an office assistant in the legal field. When she’s not greeting patients at our office, she’s frequenting the local restaurants and enjoying the outdoors with her boyfriend, close friends, as well as her beloved dog, Bailey.
