Dr. Matthew Christie
Dr. Christie was born in California and bounced around to Idaho and Arizona, then back to California, before settling in Charleston. He attended the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he graduated with High Honors and induction into the national Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society.
Following graduation, Dr. Christie began his Navy career in Great Lakes, IL where he trained with multiple specialties gaining surgical and restorative experience. Next, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he provided care to Marines and their dependents at Air Base Futenma. Due to his consistent high standard of practice, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps achievement medal upon his departure to Charleston in 2019.
During his time in Charleston, Dr. Christie has been practicing at the Navy Nuclear Power Training Command dental clinic ensuring that sailors are operationally prepared to man nuclear powered submarines and aircraft carriers. He has fully enjoyed his Navy career and is excited to bring the skills learned into private practice with Dr. Beall and the highly experienced team at James Island Family Dentistry.
Dr. Christie has a practice philosophy of providing the highest quality comprehensive dental care in a gentle and compassionate manner. He is very enthusiastic about emerging dental technologies and regularly participates in continuing education courses to learn the latest and best techniques for his patients.
In his free time Dr. Christie loves spending time with his wife, Lisa, and children, Elijah and Juliette (and their Great Dane, Moose). They enjoy attending Church together, exploring the outdoor biking trails and parks around the city, and everything else that Charleston has to offer.
